About
The Jiinue Mkenya Investments (JMI)
advances sustainable development - economic as well as environmental -
through international exchanges that support ongoing sustainable
development programs.
Panda abillion+tress is a movement implemented jointly by Jiinue Mkenya Investments kenya (JMI) andJMI Friends in the world. The movement is designed to promote reforestation and recovery of native vegetation through establishment and development of five sustainable tree nurseries in every county. Panda Miti is yet to be launched by all governers in every county , with measurement of verifiable results as an integral feature. The outcome resulted in the integration of the programme into the existing Jiinue Mkenya Investments Conservation Education Field Center.
Purpose and Objectives of the project:
The main goal of the Panda Abillion+trees -project is to create long term environmental sensitivity among keyan children, teachers and villagers regarding the watersheds which serve over 40 million inhabitants. It is expected that through this programme over 4,000 beneficiaries of different ages, interests, educational backgrounds and experiences will be enriched with practical environmental skills. The goal will be achieved by these objectives:
●Establish four jiinue mkenya investments Clubs in three primary schools
●Establish a field nursery site with 500,000 seedlings, and plant 4500,000 seedlings in four target villages
●Develop a 60m x 60m vertiva plot and an agricultural trio plot to help with soil fertilizers
●Establish and promote site based enviroment educational services for schools and villagers.
●Provide a site where international students and volunteers can conduct research, service learning, and learn from their Kenyan partners.
Expected Outputs:
At the end of 2030, 1billion seedlings will be planted and managed with a survival rate of 95% or more. Ten woodlots will be established in five villages around the two Education Field Centers
